NINE years ago today there was this sweet curly head boy, who asked a shy freckle faced girl to be his “girlfriend” and they lived happily ever after. He asked me on AOL Instant Messenger in the afternoon, and I was so excited I went into my room and couldn’t stop smiling, I even screamed in my pillow. I know I was such a little girl, that moment when I got “asked out” by my first boyfriend, is something I’ll probably always remember, along with my first kiss by that same curly headed boy. Of course back then “boyfriend and girlfriend” didn’t really mean anything except I was even more shy around him. I’m not going to go into the whole story of our life because it’s already on this blog right here
Just the other day I realized that it was nine years…nine years, I am twenty two years old, I’m not old enough to be able to say “our nine year anniversary” that’s craziness. I am so blessed to have met my husband at the age of twelve and begin the life long journey of love at the age of thirteen. We grew up together, not just in the normal way of getting older, but we actually matured together. Looking back at our relationship it’s fun to see how much we’ve changed. Corey has always known me better than anybody else, he’s always been the person I turn to when something is wrong. He’s seen my worst and my best and he still loves me. I couldn’t have asked for a better love story, and I’m so excited to keep writing the story for next ninety years. I think I might go scream in my pillow!
In honor of this day I thought I would finish this post with some old school pictures. We don’t have very many pictures of us from the very beginning, back then everybody didn’t have a digital camera. However, I do have the first picture of us together. My best friend took this picture, it’s been cut, scanned, printed, and folded up( I carried it around in my purse) I opened it and looked at it so many times the paper is very thin with holes. So here is the cut, scanned, folded, holey, picture of a printed picture.
This next picture is a candid our best friend Megan took of us in High School.

This picture has always been one of my favorites. Check out my curly headed boy! I’m not sure where it all went![]()
This is another one of my favorites, also a candid captured by our friend megan.

He took me on this crazy difficult hike off the trail and up to the tallest water fall in South Carolina, Raven Cliff Falls that is almost impossible to get to, so it was just the two of us. We had a picnic, ham and turkey sandwiches, trail mix (I ate all the raisens and M&M’s), and cheese its. While sitting and watching the waterfall I made the comment of how beautiful it was, he then told me that it would be prettier if I were standing in front of it. So I stood up in front of it and he got down one knee and asked me to marry him. It was one of the most romantic moments in my life (and one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done)

We got married in a open chapel, over looking the mountains, the same mountains he proposed to me in.

Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite ♥
